Anyhow...
I interviewed
this seven-year old artists for my reporting class yesterday. His name
is Adam Wolfe Levin. A clever little bugger. He's actually not so much
an artist as an entrepreneur. He makes little drawings, then photocopies
about 10 copies each, and puts em in a popsicle stick frame and sells them
for a buck a piece. I bought four.
Only
one email from Rodzilla so far. I really
miss her. Things are aight though. I guess class is ok, enough to keep
me busy anyway. I have to write a review of something for Wednesday,
but I'm not quite sure what to write about. I always assumed that I'd write
about the Silver Jews American Water, but I think it might be too
old. So I went out and checked out some cds in the village today, and I
picked up Accelerator, by Royal Trux. I was gonna get the new Superchunk
cd, but I thought the Royal Trux cd would make a better review. And I wasn't
too sure I'd like the superchunk. I've kinda lost a taste for alterna-power-pop
lately. And i'd heaerd good things about Royal Trux, especially since they've
been back on the Drag City label.
So far, it's a little disappointing, though. I was expecting more
Will Oldham-type folk rock, but it's a lot noisier than I thought it'd
be. But maybe it was only because I was in a sort of somber mood
today when I bought it. It was in the late afternoon, but it looked like
5 o'clock all day. It was all cloudy and raining on and off. So it
was sort of a downer. And I guess Rodzilla had something to do with it.
I guess
I'm also having some residual effects from yesterday too. I was kind of
feeling all nostalgic. Certain music does that to me, which it did yesterday.
Plus, just hanging out with James and the gang made me miss hanging out
in general, back in Virginia. And for some reason, I really miss
Charlottesville too. I mean, I do have a good amount of memories
there too. The band, the shows, the drugs, the hookers. Ok,
that's not all true. But still, a nice place. I wouldn't mind visiting
sometime. Although the scene at the Tokyo Rose was getting disappointingly
lame. But I digress...
Actually,
I end.
