Daily Aggravations and Regrets

Pictures from the merry, merry month of May:

    Philadelphia, May 1st, 2004.

Geoff, outside the Phillies' new home, Citizen's Bank Park, standing by the rubble that was formerly Veterans Stadium

In the expsensive seats inside CBP during batting practice.  The Kentucky Derby was shown on the big screen.  The crowded cheered as Smarty Jones, a Philly (not filly) horse, won in dramatic fashion. Unfortunately, the Phillies could not do the same.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Luis Gonzalez, signing an autograph for Dylan's girlfriend Kelly.

In the sun-soaked walkway beyond the outfield called Ashburn Alley.

View from section 142 in left field

View of centerfield from leftfield.  The Liberty Bell rings and glows when a Phillie hits a home run. No ringing that night.

The elevated bullpens in centerfield.  The insanely ineffective Roberto Hernandez warms up for the Phillies. Not only does this photo capture a nice view of the tiered bullpens, but also the exact moment when I knew the Phillies would lose. That guy really sucks.

View after sneaking down to the box seats, during the Phillies 9th-inning rally which fell short.

Hudson River Park, New York. West Side. May 18, 2004.

View to the south from the end of the pier. What appears to be a smoke-stack on the rear of the boat is the Statue of Liberty.

View of Manhattan's West Side, around Houston Street (and some dude eating fruit salad). My office is, I think, the smaller brick building around the middle.

The walkway/park that juts into the Hudson River.  Lots of workers on lunch, sunbathers, and guys who like to take off their shirts.

Shaded pavillion to mingle and dine in.

Walkway that extends from downtown past Chelsea Piers.
