Daily Aggravations and Regrets
and other crap

February 6th, 2003. Thursday

I'm sitting in a beginning HTML class right now, and man, is it boring. I took it because I've never had an formal HTML training, and though that's something that's certainly not necessary, it's nice to know what's considered basic knowledge. Plus, it sure beats the heck out of sitting at my desk. The class is part of the company's "university" program. The we won't even past rudimentary tables. Someone sitting in front of me today was making notes that "ctrl+c" copied text. There's also a gentleman sitting over there with his one pant leg tucked halfway into his white sock. I'm guess he put his pants on first, then just pulled the sock over without really noticing. The instructor knows I'm really not paying attention. He doesn't even come over to look at my screen when he's inspecting other people's work. I'd asked him if we'd cover style sheets or whatever, and he was like "No, not even close. That's a level three topic." Great. So I'm pretty much wasting my time here. Though I am writing his page in html right now, instead of using Netscape Composer, which is what I use 99% of the time.

Anyway, I've maintained my fairly rotten mood, with a few interludes of levity. Met up with former neighbor Rachel last night after work, at Boat bar in Carroll Gardens. We're supposed to get some sort of music practice going this weekend, and we've even gone so far as to book time in a rehearsal space at a studio. This is all contingent on Matt and Jed however, since we need a rhythm section. But I'm really looking forward to it. Playing guitar is a hundred times more satisfying when you have a good drumbeat to play along with.

Well, apparently I need to pay better attention. Cause I just screwed up all the html somewhere trying to simplify the messy, messy code Composer generates.
