August 31, 2002.  Saturday

This is my last day in my Park Slope apartment.  I've lived here the entire time I've lived in New York.  Three years now.  And tomorrow, I am off.  To Greenpoint, in northern Brooklyn.  It's a big move, and a lot of changes. I'll be living by myself for the first time.  More importantly, I'll be without the digital cable and cable modem that I've become accustomed to the last year and a half.
I've been trying to clean and pack for the last few days, but I keep getting distracted.  Like I tried to pack up all my photo albums, but then just sat around looking through all of them instead.  Also, I can't stop eating.  So far today, I've had a lot of sushi, a bowl of noodles, four chicken drumsticks, copious amounts of gingerale, and now I just bought a lot of candy.  And there's a waffle in the freezer with my name on it. No, really, it's my waffle. It's labelled.  It's been sitting there for months, just one waffle on its own.
    Off to the movies now...
