March 15th, 2002. Friday
If I didn't have to work right now, I would almost certainly be at home, taking a nap. Or I would've slept until one or so, and just be finishing lunch around now. As it is, I do have to work, and I am very tired. When I leave here in about three hours, I will not go home and take a nap. I will probably first go to the gym. For what or why, I do not really know. I just have this notion that I need to go. Then I will go home. But I won't go to sleep. I'll sit around and eat or watch tv or play guitar and kill time until it's time to go out. Then I'll go out, and won't go home until very late, and won't get to sleep until I'm guessing around 4 am. Which is twelve and a half hours from now. Mercy.Last night, Matt and I ventured over to the Carol Gardens section of Brooklyn to meet up with Jen K and her friend Beth, as well as one of her friends from work and his friend. I didnt' rreally want to get on a train last night, but I hadn't seen Jen K in a while, so what the hell. So we met them at Roxy on Smith St., had a few drinks, then walked down to Boat, the sister bar of Great Lakes. Roxy is also owned by the Boat/Great Lakes people. Anyway, it was a mostly amusing evening. That Jen K makes me laugh. She and Beth'd just gotten back from Montreal a few days ago, and had many interesting stories to tell. Many of them featured old men who wanted to take their pictures with them. They said it was only a 6 hour drive to Montreal. Maybe I'll have to drive up sometime this summer. Why not? Maybe I'll catch an Expos game. Not like getting good seats will be tough. Anyway, after Boat, Matt and I stopped at Great Lakes for another drink
By the way, I finally finished a page of Less Frequently Used Nouns, which I'd been meaning to do for years. It lists people not on the Frequently Used Nouns Page, as was probably obvious, such as Jen K and others. I talk about them a lot, so I thought descriptions might help. At the same time, I didn't want to put them in the main index, either because I just don't have a lot to say about them, or because I don't know how long they'll be around, and I only put entries on there that I feel are somewhat permanent. There have been the occasional entries that are never used, but once they're in, they can't come out. So I'm more careful with what I add to it.
