I'm feeling a bit restless. Or just weird somehow. This should be a moot point. I should be in bed. I've been terribly late for work the last two days. Trouble getting up in the morning.  Not waking up, that I do fine. I wake up nice and early, then go back to sleep, and wake up nice and late.  Anyway, I got home from work not too long ago, and don't really feel like going to bed. I practiced guitar for a while, ate some cheese, watched tv, even went for a little walk.  Something feels funny.  I left work feeling like I forgot something.  I never feel that way unless I actually have forgotten something.  But so far, nothing's come up missing.

On a musical side note- A cd I recently rediscovered- The Return of the Rentals.  Every year or so I stumble across this album again.  The tunes are really catchy, but there's only so long I can listen to it before all that Moog gets to be too much.  But it's a good record, and Matt Sharp's absence from Weezer noticeable on their last album.  I think it'd better for all concerned if he just went back.

When I came home tonight, i heard an odd sound coming from somewhere in the building.  It was coming from near the front door. I thought maybe my roommates were watching tv really loudly, but no one was in the living room.  Then I thought the upstairs neighbors were watching some weird film.  I don't know why, but I had a feeling it was some sort of Spanish film, like a Bunuel movie or The Spanish Earth or something, maybe some sort of propaganda film.  Anyway, after some close examination around the radiator in the hall, it sounded like the talking was coming from underneath the floor. I thought maybe the acoustics of the building were playing some sort of trick, and that it was really coming from upstairs.  But I don't think the girls upstairs have their tv where the sound was coming from.  So this leads me to believe that someone is in fact living in the basement of the apartment building. I guess that should seem creepy, but if someone's down there it just sounds like he or she or they are just chilling out watching old movies.  Anyway, it's pretty loud. I thought maybe someone had hidden a radio or something behind the radiator, but I couldn't see anything.  I'll keep you posted.

Anyway, lsat night after work I met Caryn in Tribeca and we met my brother Garrick and his band, who were playing at the Knitting Factory.  They were taking part in the International Pop Overthrow festival.  they were scheduled to play last that night, which ended up being a good thing, because their van caught fire somewhere in New Jersey. They showed up in a Ford Windstar minivan.  Very rock and roll.  They didn't end up playing until around 12:30.  This was only the second time I've seen his band play in the five or so years they've been a band.  I have to say I was a little surprised how good they were.  Very tight.  Much more together than the other bands I saw play.  Anyway, I cabbed it home and didn't go to bed until very late.  Thus the lateness to work today.
