Last night I had a dream.  Very, very weird.  I was with...I'm not sure who. Geoff or Jed or some other familiar.  Wait, for a bit I was with Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey on friends.  He was in more of the mode of his character from Lost in Space. I'd just seen the trailer for that recently, so that should explain it.  He was fighting some sort of iridescent, cloud life-form, that started as two separate entities, but merged into one after he was kicking the shit out of it.  Some weird space creature.  But we were in a corn field, by railroad tracks.  After he killed it, with the help of a train, we walked in a direction that seemed to be the wrong way.  there was something going on "back in town," that we had to help out with, but he wanted to get the hell out of there.  Anyway, we ended up in this little area that looked like a dry creek bed, about 7 feet deep, with moist, reddish dirt in the bottom.  Then a chained up dog showed up, and I alternated which side of the ditch i was standing on, in case it wasn't a friendly dog. It looked more like a wolf.  Anyway, after a while this dude shows up, and Joey says "nice jacket." and the guy says "i'm going to work."  He was wearing a striped prison jacket and hat, and had a tag on that said "Dirt Guard" or something.  Then this old, scary guy shows up and looks us up and down and says "Well, they'll do."  So basically we're his prisoners, and we're working on his dirt farm.  People have tried to steal his dirt, and by god, they weren't going to get it.  I guess our job was to harvest said dirt.  Anyway, back in town (it was one of those omnipresent dreams, not unlike a tv show), they were all very concerned about our whereabouts.  Somehow in the next scene it was a later time, when I had escaped or something, and i was walking down a street in my neighborhood in Pennsylvania, by what would have been the Riffle's house, but there was nothing bu dirt there, as if it had been bulldozed.  This girl was walking by, and she looked over at the dirt, and started shaking and crying.  Then this skater dude who was walking near her looks at the dirt and looks back at her, and says "Hey, are you ok?" and she keeps walking away, and he says "wait! I was a dirt farmer to!"  but she keeps walking, finally stopping when another girl was sharing her fear and pain.  And the whole time, what I was sort of thinking was how weird it was for all these people to be on this stretch of the block, since it's never been a very high-traffic pedestrian stretch of sidewalk.  Then Howard Stern woke me up.  He was singing the praises of Danny Glover.

wanna hear another dream I had last night?  I was sitting in my brother Galvin's room with Jed and Aaron, of the SHOE, and Jed and I were looking at an Oscar trophy, when I hear Aaron say from behind me "This is the honor I've been waiting for my whole life."  And I turn around and he's in a beige tuxudeo with a vey skinny bow-tie, and he's holding index cards and a giant Oscar trophy that he was going to present at the Oscar ceremony.  But he told us the oscar wasn't going to be the same this year. While he was holding a giant version made of metal and plastic, he showed us several new Oscar awards that were designed for this year.  they all depicted some sort of domestic scene, in a diorama style display.  in one, Oscar was standing there, but in a sort of Little House on the Prairie dress and bonnet.  In another Oscar was sitting at a table with two other dolls, eating pancakes or something.  It was all a little weird, but for some reason I didn't find the notion that these would be awarded as prizes too odd.

Well, time to put some pants on and go to work.
