Mail to G-RockSo i had to go home to Pennsylvania today to buy health insurance. An emergency policy, until I get real healthcare from a real job. So I caught the 9:30 bus back to Reading. First time I've done the roundtrip home on the sameday. Not too bad, really. It was a gray, tired ride home, and I slept most of the way. I had a very weird dream. I dreamt on was on a bus, at night, and the bus was stopped by the side of the road due to some sort of accident. The bus wasn't a charter bus, but more like a city bus, with a door in the middle of the bus. Anyway, it was night, and some guy refused to get out of the road. The reason for the stoppage in traffic was a dead dog in the road. A big sort of dog, like a sled dog. there were three dogs, and the other two were sniffing around the dead one somberly. After lots of yelling, the owner of the dog freaks out and is like "Fine!" and flings his arms in the air and goes to get the dog out of the road. He picks it up by it's legs, and carries it toward the bus, where he walked through it from the side doors. It was sort of gruesome. So he plops down the dog at the feet of the people who were yelling at him, and the dog comes alive and just stands there. Then someone screams, and the guy is standing in the bus carrying the dog's dismembered leg. Then i woke up. i was curious whether the leg was the front or hind leg, and which would make life more difficult for the dog. What an odd dream.Speaking of having no legs, Matt and Jed and Jen and I have a running argument over whether it would be worse to have no arms and no legs. Jed and I argree that no arms would be much worse, while Matt and Jen always thought having no legs would be worse. When we asked a bunch of people at Great Lakes one night, most people's question was "If I had no legs, could i still have sex?" People. Anyway, on New Year's eve matt fell down somewhere and wrenched his ankle. The next day when we went out to brunch, it took us about ten agonizing minutes to complete the 4 minut walk down to 7th Ave. That pretty much convereted matt to the no arms being worse. If he'd had a wheel chair or something, problem solved. No arms, and I'd be feeding him his cheese steak. It's nice have painful illustrations to prove your point.
Anyhow, home was ok for the few hours I was there. It began snowing as the bus pulled into Reading, and did so until I left. Got the usual shake-down from my mom about responsibility and money and all the other stuff. But it was nice to have a nice tasty lunch waiting for me when I got home. So we went out and settled the insurance business, got some slushies, and went home. Then I ate some cheese, watched some TV, went for a short drive, did my laundry, and hugged my mom goodbye before leaving. It surprised me later, how much I really needed that.
