Daily Aggravations and Regrets
and various random thoughts

July 10, 2000. Monday

I don't really have the time right now to write, if you can believe that.  Yes, I'm actually occupied doing job-hunt-related things. On the web of course.  Anyway, not much happened over the weekend anyway.  A quiet few days at home.  So instead, here're a few pictures taken over the weekend

The family dog, Duke.  My most frequent description about Duke is "He eats his own poo."

Duke, chewing on some shrub clippings in my front yard, under the giant maple tree I spent much of my youth climbing.

Duke, with said shrubbery clippings.  He likes to chew things.

A blurry shot of the Verrazano Narrows bridge, on a hazy night.  It was tough get the picture.  The bridge is narrow.  It connects Staten Island and Brooklyn. It takes 7 bucks to cross. Bitches.

(l-r) Matt, Jen, and Jed.  Jen is behind fan.  What's going on here is, after ordering Chinese food and settling into boredom, Matt or Jed was wondering if you could fling a soy sauce packet through the fan without it breaking. Matt was so sure that you could, that he said he'd stand in front of the fan.  After his successful attempt, I guess Jen had to try it.  But for her, they used mustard sauce.  I thought the lower viscocity of the mustard would cause easier breakage.  But nothing really happened.   Anyhow, I refused to take part.  I didn't want to clean it up, or stand in front of a fan. Although it makes an interesting little anecdote.

A closeup, moments before the packet goes through. You can barely see Jen cowering, to the right of the rotor.

A nice sunset.  That's the view across from my stoop.  It's an old folks home/hospital I think.  It's actually more picturesque than this. It's not a very good camera.
